Quotes from the Anti-American FATHER OF CAPITALISM
When Republican or Democrat politicians solemnly say, “America is a capitalist country,” they are flatly LYING. The U.S. Constitution Endorses NO Economic System. The U.S. Constitution NEVER was built on nor endorsed any economic system. Shocking as it might sound, the United States government and society could OBEY the U.S. Constitution and economically structure itself along Socialist or Communist principles. America was founded, first, on the Declaration of Independence, and second, on the U.S. Constitution.
American was founded IDEOLOGICALLY for the sake of People, of human beings, not for Money, not for Land, not for Wealth.
Read the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution. America is about PEOPLE not PROFITS. I will number these purposes of our highest law:
1. form a more perfect Union
2. establish Justice
3. insure domestic Tranquility
4. provide for the common defense
5. promote the general Welfare and
6. secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity
Look at the link to our Constitution’s First Ten Amendments. Every one is focused on People and People Protection. It is easier to argue that the U.S. Constitution is more compatible Socialist HUMAN Values than with what you will read below, from the mind and pen of the FATHER OF CAPITALISM, Adam Smith, who was an atheist.
America is About People
Not Business, Not Corporations, Not Profits
Human beings always have worked and traded to support their families, or goals for a home, land, whatever. Profits are central to EVERY Nation in the world, with EVERY political system. Profits support government functions in Communist Nations, Socialist Nations, Monarchist Nations, Dictatorship Nations, and yes, Democratic Nations. There is NO reason why anyone must adopt the “American Profit System” as if that is what the Entire Earth uses.
Fair Profits Have to Do with BEING HUMAN. There is a difference between a MORAL or FAIR PROFIT, which considers the Buyer a member of the Human Family, or what we hear regularly, “Whatever the Market Will Bear” meaning “if the People will pay, then get all you can.” I have traveled to different locations in the United States to eat and buy goods and services. I often find family-owned businesses where–because the owners are not greedy but care about people–prices are surprisingly low, compared to most places now. The owners decided their lifestyle and financial goals did not include PUNISHING customers with too high prices, or raising them every time the government prints the “inflation rate.” STOP being stupid. Think about that absurd LIE that “every price has to be as high as people will pay.”
- People have to EAT – So should you ONLY sell food to people with money? Should people without money STARVE because they have been fired, or because they are too slow to learn a trade, or because their skin color is the “wrong one” or they have the “wrong religion” or “no religion”?
- People need WATER – So should you sell WATER when water comes from Natural Resources, aquifers, wells, lakes, rivers, just because people cannot travel to dip for it, and carry it home? Should you sell WATER for the highest prices, just because you have enough money to build a bottling plant, and have trucks and drivers to move it?
- People need CLOTHING – So should you sell them Paper shirts and pants or dresses, if you can manufacture something cheaper than cotton or wool, or synthetics? Should you sell them clothing that lasts six months, or one year, but never five years, so you have them coming back and back to buy again?
- People need SHELTER – So should you keep raising home prices, or rental prices, so people must work three jobs just to pay the bill, utilities, insurance, and repairs, so you keep them spending and spending and, if they cannot keep up on ANY ONE area of Shelter Costs, they are kicked into the street?
- People need MEDICINE – Ask any Billionaire if he or she “ought to have” or “should be denied” healthcare for diarrhea, vomiting, high blood pressure, migraine headache, or any more serious condition if his or her wealth were wiped out overnight by a war or other catastrophe. Every Billionaire would demand healthcare treatment, for whatever was needed, even though his or her wealth was gone. If told by an Emergency Room managers, “Sorry, you have no money, so leave and get off our property with your puking or diarrhea, or headache, or heart attack, or we are calling the police!,” that former-billionaire would NOT just walk off saying, “OK, I understand. I get it. You are correct. I have no right to be here, because only money grants permission for me to live or die. Bye.”
Human Beings are More Precious Than Money

In The Declaration of Independence, paragraph two, sentence one, we read: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among them are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness … it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish [destructive government], and to institute new Government … as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
It was PEOPLE, their Safety and Happiness that prompted the Founders to BREAK away from Destructive Government, and to create a New Government they would design to Protect their Safety and Happiness.
NONE of this had to do with “profits” or “business” or “banks” or “corporations” or “investors” or any foreign nation, such as the Zionist State of Israel which has “purchased Congress” through the American-Israeli Political Action Committee (which had for its former name, the American Zionist Committee for Foreign Affairs).
Human Beings were the CAUSE and Human Beings were the OBJECT of the First American Revolution.
When Republican (or occasionally, Democrat) politicians say, “America is a Capitalist Nation,” THEY ARE LYING ON BEHALF OF WEALTHY PEOPLE AND WEALTHY CORPORATIONS.
The most accurate statement about America is this: AMERICA IS A NATION FOUNDED ON HUMAN BEINGS, AND THEIR CONCERNS FOR LIFE, LIBERTY, HAPPINESS AND THE SAFETY OF THESE CONCERNS!

Atheist Founder of Capitalism
I cite the Republican Party because THAT part is sure to take Adam Smith’s principles for PROFITS OVER PEOPLE. Republicans are ALWAYS the ones to strip out HUMAN BENEFITS over “military benefits” (since most of the federal budget is transferred to Corporate War Manufacturers and Suppliers). However, there also are Democrats who are feeding at the Profits Trough, and the Military Trough, who are paid hand-puppets of Non-Human and Anti-Human Corporations. WHICH ARE THOSE? Look at the federal and state contracts given to surveillance and intelligence corporations. Those corporations work hand in hand with the most Fascist Federal and State leaders, who suppress free speech, public protest, and dissent against Federal policies.
I will add red print to draw your attention to critical phrases. Then, after each quote I will add critical observations in small green print based on Smith’s actual wording, then YOU can think for yourself as to whether I have been fair to him or not:
Wealth Is Potential Power To Purchase Real Political Power
“Wealth, as Mr. Hobbes says [See Thomas Hobbes, Ed:Leviathan, Ch. 1, Sec. 10], is power. But the person who either acquires, or succeeds to a great fortune, does not necessarily acquire or succeed to any political power, either civil or military. His fortune may, perhaps, afford him the means of acquiring both [Ed: civil or military power], but the mere possession of that fortune does not necessarily convey to him either. The power which that possession immediately and directly conveys to him is the power of purchasing….” (Bk. 1: Ch. 5, Par. 3)
COMMENT: Notice that this was written in 1776. Smith knew then what Americans know now. “Enough money will buy an election, and the people elected SERVE their Masters.” Here in this statement, Smith notes that the WEALTH does not necessarily put the Wealthy Person into office, but the bought servants who are put into office. Notice also that Smith said that BOTH “civil and military power” can be purchased. We see this when Congresses and Presidents “declare wars” which actually are for Military Profiteers. The unfortunate Americans who “believe the war lie” enlist with enthusiasm, to kill or be killed, to maim or be maimed, not realizing they are the pawns of the WAR PROFITEERS. See the fine book by David Vine, The United States of War (University of California Press: 2020), in which Vine–an anthropologist–begins with Christopher Columbus and works his way through EVERY U.S. military engagement, and details “who profited.” always has had a huge influence on elections. Then, when the “candidate of the wealthy” is elected, that man or woman (and there ARE women) is the slave of those who paid the price to BUY THEM. When the U.S. Supreme Court interfered in the recount of the Gore-Bush election, and then later ruled that “Corporations were people” and “speech is money” in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission (2010), then more in McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission (2014), they opened the floodgates to ENSURING that Smith’s statement above was CHANGED. Instead of “potential power” to purchase political or military power, now American people live under the legalization of “WEALTH IS THE ACTUAL POWER TO PURCHASE POLITICAL AND MILITARY POWER.”
Stockholders’ Loyalty is to Global Profit
Not Any Nation’s Interests
“The proprietor of stock is necessarily a citizen of the world, and is not necessarily attached to any particular country. He would be apt to abandon the country in which he was exposed to a vexatious inquisition, in order to be assessed to a burdensome tax, and would remove his stock to some other country where he could either carry on his business, or enjoy his fortune more at his ease.” (Bk. 5: Ch. 2: Pt. 2: Art. 2: Par. 5)
COMMENT: No loyalty to any Nation. Leave any Nation that questions your business practices, or which taxes you too much. “NO INTERFERENCE WITH BUSINESS, or else Now this statement Smith made can be demonstrated in nearly EVERY CENTURY of American history. However, the period where “selling out American citizens’ interests” really began to accelerate in the 1970s, with the North American Free Trade Act, prepared by President George Herbert Walker Bush, and signed and celebrated by President Bill Clinton, followed by all the RUSH for Corporations to build factories in China–and other Nations–wherever there was CHEAP LABOR, and NO PORTION OF PROFITS had to be paid out for healthcare, any other insurance, time off, etc. Previous to this, AMERICAN UNIONS had negotiated for Fair Labor Practices, and Business Owners were complaining that they had to cut too big a “slice of profits” to keep workers SAFE and HAPPY. Today, the billions in “donations” (translate that, “legal bribes”) to American U.S. government officials GUARANTEES that Foreign Interests are served, not American Citizens.
Manipulate Self-Love and Expect No Good Will
“But man has almost constant occasion for the help of his brethren, and it is in vain for him to expect it from their benevolence only. He will be more likely to prevail if he can interest their self-love in his favor, and show them that it is for their own advantage to do for him what he requires of them.” (Bk. 1: Ch. 2: Par. 2)
COMMENT: Selfishness, or Egoism, is the FOUNDATION for much of Smith’s book. What a bitter pessimist he was about human nature!. His Egoism betrays his time in history. For he wrote such foolishness about “not expecting benevolence” from his ignorant point of view in 1776, so far away from the great scientific research of the Primatologist and Ethologist, Frans de Waal (Franciscus Bernardus Maria de Waal), who taught us so much about mammal morality, mammal empathy, mammal, benevolence, and mammal attachment (in the psychological-psychiatric senses). When any well-read person with a strong university education reads the cynical Smith, and his broad arrogant false statements about human beings, this shows how ignorant and foolish Republican Party politicians are to repeat Smith’s cynic Egoism for their “wise economic policies.” I often have wondered how much of their natural human instinctive consciences these men and women have, since they repeat so glibly these ignorant anachronistic points to DESTROY their own species, in their own Nation. Of course, since I also have studied carefully the words of Jesus of Nazareth in their original Greek richness, these same Republicans who call themselves “Christians” also MUST deny anything Jesus said, since Smith not only was an atheist, but was teaching inhumane doctrines that destroy the Masses while empowering a tiny FEW with vast unrighteous wealth. If nothing else, these Republican “Christians” must paint over Jesus’ statement, “You cannot,” note the UNEQUIVOCAL NEGAT(ON, “You cannot serve God and Wealth.” But of course, since my PhD in the history of theology and ethics already informed me how they could do this. Instead of making Jesus their Master–the One they must face on the Day of Judgment–they were taught by their Churches that Jesus really was nothing more than a sack of Blood sent to Earth to bleed out on the Cross, making him a meaningless Commander and instead, a “vicarious blood sacrifice.” Blame Christianity, but not the Christ. However, I close with the PREAMBLE to the U.S. Constitution, which is a direct denial of Adam Smith’s atheistic cynicism: We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. The PREAMBLE is the ONLY MORAL statement in the entire document, which is why no U.S. Congress, nor U.S. Supreme Court, nor U.S. President EVER has cited what the Founders intended to be the MORAL COMPASS OF THE HIGHEST LAW IN THE LAND.
Business is Based on Self-Interest not Good Will
“It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own self-interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages. Nobody but a beggar chooses to depend chiefly upon the benevolence of his fellow-citizens.” (Bk. 1: Ch. 2: Par. 2, BOLD ADDED)
COMMENT: Notice this example of the “butcher, brewer and baker” these are all FOOD SELLERS, and Smith said people were NOT to expect “good will” on food prices. All the buyer could expect was Self-Interest of the Seller, even if it meant survival. In addition, Smith MOCKED “depending upon the benevolence of fellow-citizens”! Americans faithful to the Constitution have KEPT good will towards fellow citizens. This includes FOOD SELLERS and others. Many are the examples of FOOD PRODUCERS AND SELLERS HELPING poor hungry customers, a thousand ways. The atheist Smith was ice-hearted. Americans are not “beggars” to expect good will from each other. This spiritually dead Scotsman, so expert in PROFIT OVER PEOPLE had no empathy, had no compassion.
Promote Self-Interest NOT Society’s Interest
“Every individual is continually exerting himself to find out the most advantageous employment for whatever capital he can command. It is his own advantage, indeed, not that of society, which he has in view. But the study of his own advantage naturally, or rather necessarily leads him to prefer that employment which is most advantageous to society…. [Ed: Smith proceeds to discuss his preference for domestic markets over foreign…] He generally, indeed, neither intends to promote the public interest, nor knows how much he is promoting it. By preferring the support of domestic to that of foreign industry, he intends only his security…. Nor is it always the worse for the society that it was no part of it. By pursuing his own interest he frequently promotes that of the society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it. I have never known much good done by those who affected to trade for the public good. It is an affectation, indeed, not very common among merchants, and very few words need be employed in dissuading them from it.” (Bk. 4: Ch. 2: Pars. 4, 9)
COMMENT: Well, you have seen this principle in practice. From that damned man, Ronald Reagan (whom I voted for), shut down the mental hospitals, and shut down more social programs, and then “opened up” the Treasury for “privatizing and economizing,” AS IF CORPORATIONS WOULD NOT PLUNDER ONCE THEY GOT FEDERAL CONTRACTS. The present U.S. National Debt is not just “from wars” but much more from the PROFIT CENTERS OF FEDERAL CONTRACTS, which exploded costs, and which fueled backroom deals for more wars. And what were those? Exactly what Smith talked about above. Individuals promoting their Self-Interest, not Society’s Interest. Yet he MOCKED Benevolence! People are by nature Benevolent. They WANT to help others, because they instinctively KNOW that one day, they may need help, and it is NOT “self-interest” that moves them, but human mammalian Compassion. The Republican Party is the DAMNED Party of the United States, because all the Natural Heart of a Human Being has been cut out for profits, to be cooked and cut up and divided and eaten by Corporations and Greedy Individuals. And to make that worse, the so-called “Evangelicals” have no Evangel, no Good News, except the same filth as what the atheist Smith wrote, but smeared over with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, to destroy the innocent and helpless, at home and abroad.
